Allied Housing: Innovation in Affordable Housing Delivery – Modular Construction Lessons Learned

"Innovation in Affordable Housing Delivery - Modular Construction Lessons Learned” (an hour presentation with Q&A session) is hosted by SV@ Home and Allied Housing/Abode Services. As part of the Affordable Housing month, we will hear from affordable housing developer Macy Leung, (Development Project Manager of Allied Housing/Abode Services) about the innovation, and expanded use of off-site construction and lessons learned throughout the design process on a recent 125 unit, all-electric, new ground-up Permanent Supportive Housing development in the Bay Area.

Macy will discuss how she incorporated modular construction in this project’s initial design process, and will speak on the general financing requirements, project risks, time and cost savings, approval process, and modular construction in general and specific lessons learned during the design process. She will also discuss the broader benefit of off-site modular construction as a housing delivery method in the affordable housing development industry.

This presentation will explore an actual development project representing the innovate features and risks/benefit evaluation utilizing off-site/modular construction.
